"Nothing Save Jesus Would I Know"

Emptied of earth I fain would be,
Of sin, myself, and all but Thee;
Only reserved for Christ that died,
Surrender’d to the crucified.

Nothing, save Jesus, would I know;
My friend and my companion Thou!
Lord, seize my heart, assert Thy right,
And put all other loves to flight:

Sequester’d from the noise and strife,
The lust, the pomp, the pride of life;
For heaven alone my heart prepare,
And have my conversation there.

Larger communion let me prove
With Thee, blest object of my love;
But oh! for this no power have I;
My strength is at Thy feet to lie.

A Little Note from Cobblestone Road Ministries:

Phil 1:21
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

The writer of the above poem, truly understood who Jesus is and
what being a Christian is all about. Most of us know in part; we know
what is right but we fail, at times, to look to Christ alone for strength.
We, at times, still want to do things on our own. Yet abadoning self
and sin -- ceasing from ourselves, we should look to our blessed
Savior! When we look to Jesus, when we allow Him the preeminence
in our lives, we see the end result is "nothing save Jesus would I know."
His strength is sufficient, His power is great! Our strength is in Him.
Our power is in Him, not in ourselves.
"For me to live is Christ..."

Phil 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Let us remember to look to Him for strength!
Nothing save the Lord Jesus!
