Jesus, At Thy Command

Jesus, at Thy command
I launch into the deep;
And leave my native land,
Where sin lulls all to sleep.
For Thee I would the world resign,
And sail to heav'n with Thee and Thine.
Thou art my Pilot wise;
My compass is Thy Word:
My soul each storm defies,
While I have such a Lord!
I trust Thy faithfulness and pow'r
To save me in the trying hour.
Through all my passage lie;
Yet Christ will safely keep,
Tho' rocks and quicksands deep
And guide me with his eye.
He bears the world and all things up,
Nor can I sink with such a prop.
By faith I see the land,
The port of endless rest:
My soul, thy sails expand,
And fly to Jesus' breast.
O may I reach the heav'nly shore,
Where winds and waves distress no more!

A Little Note from Cobblestone Road Ministries:

This hymn was also sung by Olaudah Equiano, in his book.
Former Slave turned Missionary, and known friend of
William Wilberforce

Life is a journey...full of good times and bad. The world has
many vices, many obstacles, many voices, much sorrow, much
entertainment and many parties. What is the purpose of life?
That we know our Maker-- Our Creator-- that we have fellowship
with Him. Fellowship was broken in the Garden of Eden and
restored at the Cross of Christ. Are you a Believer in Christ?
Do you know Him personally as Savior and Lord?
Our purpose, as Christians, is that we allow Christ to work in
and through us, by His Spirit, to fulfill
His purpose.
Life is short...then we go home...is He the Pilot of our lives?

Jeremiah 9:23-24
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man
glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that
he
understandeth and knoweth me,
that I am the LORD which
exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in
the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
