    Why Did Jesus Come?
    Three Things To Remember
    When Celebrating Christmas!

    Matthew 1:21:
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call
his name JESUS: for he shall save his people
    from their sins.

    1. Jesus, God's Only Begotten Son, came to this earth
born of a virgin; fulfilling the prophecy given in
    Isaiah 7:14:
    Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign;
Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son,
and shall call his name Immanuel..

    Fulfillment in Luke 1:30:
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast
found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive
in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name
JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son
of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him
the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over
the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall
be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this
be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and
said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and
the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore
also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be
    called the Son of God.

    2.  Jesus lived a sinless life. No sin or guile was found
in Him. He lived a perfect life. Isaiah 53:9 says,
"neither was any deceit in his mouth."

Jesus walked perfectly before the Heavenly Father.
He did only His Father's will.

    3. The manger always points us to the redemption that
is ONLY in Christ Jesus. The Lord Jesus came to die
for us. His death on the cross paid the price for our
sins. It was prophesied in Isaiah that Messiah would
die for the sins of the people.

    Isaiah 53:10-11
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put
him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for
sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the
pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall
see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his
knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he
    shall bear their iniquities.

Because Jesus was virgin born, He did not inherit the sin
nature that was passed down to mankind from Adam.
Because Jesus lived a perfect life, He could offer up
His own life as the perfect sacrifice before God for our
sins. The blood that Jesus shed upon the cross washes all
    of our sins away.

    1Peter 1:18-21
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed
withcorruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain
conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But
with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained
before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in
these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God,
that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that
your faith and hope might be in God.

The Lord Jesus is the spotless Lamb of God. He became
the Passover Lamb. His resurrection proves that He is the
Son of God and that the sacrifice He made upon the cross
was all sufficient to redeem lost sinners. All who trust Him
as Savior shall have eternal life.

So the manger always leads to the sacrifice
the Lord Jesus made upon the cross for OUR sins.
The manger also points to His glorious resurrection.
Though Jesus died for us, He arose from the dead on
the third day. We must not keep Jesus as a baby for He
is seated at the Right Hand of the Heavenly Father,
glorified and is our Great High Priest in Heaven.

    1John 4:9-10
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because
that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we
might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved
God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the
    propitiation for our sins.

    1John 4:14
And we have seen and do testify that the Father
sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Let us remember WHY the Lord Jesus came to this
earth... to be the Savior of the world! Let us always be
thankful for our salvation that is only possible through
Him. Jesus came to this earth to die for you and for me
and was raised back to life again. All who receive Him as
Savior will live with Him forever .

    Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Though we do not know what time of the year Jesus was
born, how interesting  it is that Christians celebrate the
birth of Jesus right about the same time the Jewish people
celebrate Hanukkah-- The Festival of Lights.
Jesus is the Light of the world!

The Lord Jesus said in John 12:46

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever
believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

John 8:12
I am the light of the world: he that followeth me
shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
