Though Troubles Assail Us

Though troubles assail us and dangers affright,
Though friends should all fail us and foes all unite,
Yet one thing secures us, whatever betide,
The promise assures us, “The Lord will provide.”

The birds, without garner or storehouse, are fed;
From them let us learn to trust God for our bread.
His saints what is fitting shall ne’er be denied
So long as ’tis written, “The Lord will provide.”

When Satan assails us to stop up our path,
And courage all fails us, we triumph by faith.
He cannot take from us, though oft he has tried,
This heart cheering promise, “The Lord will provide.”

He tells us we’re weak, our hope is in vain,
The good that we seek we never shall obtain,
But when such suggestions, our graces have tried,
This answers all questions, “The Lord will provide.”

No strength of our own and no goodness we claim;
Yet, since we have known of the Savior’s great Name,
In this our strong tower for safety we hide:
The Lord is our power, “The Lord will provide.”

When life sinks a pace, and death is in view,
The word of His grace shall comfort us through,
Not fearing or doubting, with Christ on our side,
We hope to die shouting, “The Lord will provide.”

A Little Note from Cobblestone Road Ministries:

In this world, there is so much trouble and turmoil. We read the
newspapers and most of the news is bad news. Good news is never
on the front pages. As Christians, if we are not careful, we may get
caught up in what is going on all around us and have fear. Yet the
Bible always tells us to "FEAR NOT" and to "Trust in God."
What a comfort it is to know that when troubles are all around us
and trials come our way, we have VERY great and powerful God
who has all things in the palm of His hands. Hallelujah!

Good News for the Christian is found in the Word ofGod.
We must read God's Word-- We must believe His report.
We must never neglect God's precious words to us-- for in the Bible,
we find such wonderful promises given to us by our blessed Lord:

John 14:27:
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

We have hope the world can never have. We have the Lord Jesus!
The Lord Jesus Christ is our Blessed Hope and as we look at all the
things that are happening around the world, we can still have peace
because though troubles are on every side, the Lord is with us every
step of the way. We are safe in Him and we trust that He alone will
take care of us. We need not fear tomorrow-- for we KNOW Who
holds tomorrow and He will see us through! Hallelujah!
He gives us life more abundantly!

The Lord Jesus said in John 10:10:
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life, and that they might
have it more abundantly.

Psalm 39:7
And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

Psalm 146:5
Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his
help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

Titus 2:12
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,
we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present
world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing
of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
