QUESTION: When Jesus Christ returns, will He convert the Jewish nation to Christianity?
ANSWER: When the Lord Jesus Christ returns, He will convert the Jewish remnant to HIMSELF! The Lord Jesus is Jewish! His name in Hebrew is Yeshua. He is the Seed of Abraham and the Son of David-- the Jewish Messiah. Jesus is not a Christian. He is the King of the Jews-- the rejected Servant of Isaiah 53; and He promised to return and He will return unto His people, the Jews, to save them at the Battle of Armageddon. Messiah's own people rejected Him and delivered Him up to be crucified, as the Hebrew prophets foretold. And when Pilate asked them, "Shall I crucify your king?" The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Caesar!" And so the rejection of Messiah-- as prophesied in the Hebrew Scriptures, took place on the preparation of Passover almost 2000 years ago.
Yeshua said in Matthew 23:37-39: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
The Hebrews will not see their Messiah again UNTIL the remnant cries out for Him. And that day will surely come. His people shall cry out for salvation from their enemies and shall find that their help will come from the One returning with nail prints in His hands and feet, as Zechariah 12:10 prophesies.
The "Christian" label was given to all believers who followed "the Christ." And all Gentile believers are grafted into the Jewish vine. When a Gentile receives Christ (the anointed One), he receives the Jewish Messiah and then worships the Heavenly Father (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.) Christians are children of Abraham-- BY FAITH. The Jewish people, as a whole, have yet to recognize their Messiah-- though anyone who seeks the Lord, shall find Him within the pages of the Scriptures.
Romans 11:25-29 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
Gal 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
All Believers in Jesus become a part of one family and are children of Abraham. And when the Messiah- Yeshua-- Jesus-- will return back to earth, as He promised, He will convert His Jewish people to Himself.
"Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain." (Zechariah 8:3)
"In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." (Zechariah 12:8-10)
