"Grace and Providence"
Almighty King! whose wond'rous hand
Supports the weight of sea and land;
Whose grace is such a boundless store,
No heart shall break that sighs for more;
Thy Providence supplies my food,
And 'tis Thy blessing makes it good;
My soul is nourish'd by Thy Word,
Let soul and body praise the LORD.
My streams of outward comfort came
From Him, who built this earthly frame;
Whate'er I want his bounty gives,
By whom my soul for ever lives.
Either His hand preserves from pain,
Or, if I feel it, heals again;
From Satan's malice shields my breast,
Or overrules it for the best.
Forgive the song that falls so low
Beneath the gratitude I owe!
It means Thy praise, however poor,
An angel's song can do no more.
~William Cowper (1731-1800)~
A Little Note from Cobblestone Road Ministries:
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
Divine Providence! God's hand is directing our steps and He provides!
Let us forever be thankful and bless the Holy Name of the Lord!
Wherever we are or whatever we do, the eye of God will be upon me
and upon you! The Lord's hand guides our steps. We may have plans
but that is where we must yield our plans to the Lord and trust Him that
He indeed KNOWS what is best for us. Too many Christians want
things THEIR way but they have yet to submit themselves
completely to the Lord. Psalm 37:5 Commit thy way unto the
LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
His hand will see us through. He provides and supplies!
His grace is without limit. He supplies us with all that we need!
May we continue to trust in Him and praise Him for all
that He has done for us! His ways are right and perfect!
Charles Spurgeon preached:
"Transport me where you please—wherever the cloudy pillar of
Providence shall guide me—and I shall have God with me...
Man marks out plans: he says, I shall build this tower; he gets it
halfway up, and he finds he has not enough to finish it with; he has
to pull it down, lay a smaller foundation, and build again. God never
does so; He has a plan when He begins, and He carries that plan out:
He lays the foundation, and always finishes the topstone."
The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal
glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make
you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
