"He Giveth His Beloved Sleep" Sorrow and care may meet, The tempest cloud may low’r, The surge of sin may beat Upon earth’s troubled shore; God doth His own in safety keep, He giveth His beloved sleep. The din of war may roll, With all her raging flight, Grief may oppress the soul, Throughout the weary nigh; God doth His own in safety keep, He giveth His beloved sleep. In childhood’s winsome page, In manhood’s joyous bloom, In feebleness and age, In death’s dark gathering gloom, God will His own in safety keep, He giveth His beloved sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Little Note from Cobblestone Road Ministries: Psalm 127:2b "He giveth his beloved sleep." What a great God we serve! He even gives us sleep. We, as Christians-- who know the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, need not worry about tomorrow. We have committed tomorrow into His hands. While on your pillow this evening, meditate upon the goodness of God. Confess your sins, ask Him to mold you into what He wants you to be. If you have anxiety, give Him your anxiety. Give Him all of your burdens. All that troubles you-- give it to Him and trust Him keep you safe. Ask the Lord to give you a good night's rest and you will find that He is able to meet your every need. And praise Him for the wonderful sleep that He has given to you. Proverbs 3:24-26 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. Psalm 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. Psalm 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
