" The Three Prayers "

"Lord, help me," so we pray,
"Help me my work to do;
I am so uninformed and weak,
Make me more wise and true."

"Lord, help me to do Thy work,"
We pray when wiser grown,
When on the upward way
Our feet have farther gone.

"Lord, do Thy work through me"
So when all self we lose;
His doing and His work, and we
The tools His hand can use.

A Little Note from Cobblestone Road Ministries:

God is looking to live through us.
We are to surrender our will and yield to Him.

Ephesians 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
and in the power of
his might.

Colossians 1:11-12
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power,
unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks
unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light...

Phil 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

"Whatever God requires of us, He also gives ability and power to do it."

Speaking of the Lord Jesus in our daily lives,
Dr. J. Vernon McGee wrote:

"He wants to live His life through us. That is the reason I keep saying
that you are never asked to live the Christian life. You are asked to let
Him live through you. No believer can live the Christian life himself.
The old nature cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit...but how are we
going to let the Spirit of God produce the fruit of the Spirit in our lives?
....We are to abide in Christ if we are to produce fruit...The fruit is
produced by yielding...We are to yield to the Holy Spirit who indwells us.
The Holy Spirit wants to produce fruit--it is called the fruit of the Spirit..."

We must not be slothful in doing the Lord's work
BUT it must be the
Lord's work that we are doing. It's by HIS power.
He leads us, He is the Vine and we are the branches; He is the Potter, we are the clay; He guides
our steps. Let us yield to God and let Him live through us.
