He Who Is The Sinner's Friend

He who is the sinner's Friend
To the wounded heart doth send
Oil of gladness, balm of health,
To enrich the soul with wealth.
Ye who call this God your Friend,
Oh! how blessed is your end!
Thro' His vast and boundless love,
Ye shall dwell with Him above—
Mansions He doth now prepare,
And returns to take you there.
Children whom He sought on earth,
Whom His grace has giv'n new birth,
Soon shall reign with Him above
And ne'er cease to praise His love.
Haste, that glorious, happy day
When we'll need no more to pray,
But unite His Name to praise;
And with hosts our voices raise,
Sing the new song of the Lamb,
Worthy He—once slain for man!

Ephesians 2:13
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were
far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

The poem above was written by the author when he was just
16 years old. He knew at 16 what many have yet to grasp at
80 years of age. The Bible truth is that man is a sinner.

In the Beginning, God walked with man in the cool of the day.
But Adam and Eve, through their disobedience, and desire
to be "as gods" sinned in the Garden of Eden and hid from God's
presence. The Lord had to call out to Adam, "Where are you?"
They then needed a lamb to approach the Lord. The Bible tells us
that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission for sin.
Adam and Eve were separated from God-- sin separates--
and down throughout the centuries, their offspring too have been
separated from God. But THE redemption of man is provided
through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Lamb of God--
it was He who shed His precious blood for our sins-- and we
now, as Believers in Him, can come boldly into the Throne-room
of grace. As the Great High Priest in Heaven, it is Christ, who
ever intercedes on the behalf of all Believers in Him! What
an awesome Savior-- He deserves all of the glory and praise!
Not only has He forgiven us, paid our sin-debt and given us
His precious Holy Spirit, but He also in addition is preparing
for us a place-- that where He is, there we will be also.
Our Savior will return for us one day!

Ephesians 2:1-10
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now
worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had
our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the
desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children
of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great
love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath
quickened us together with Christ, by (grace ye are saved;) And hath
raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in
Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding
riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good
works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk
in them.

Colossians 1:12
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet
to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Dear Believer in Christ, have you thanked the Father today for
sending His beloved Son to die for your sins? Have you raised
your voice in praise-- giving Christ the honor that is due Him?
Give God the praise right now. Praise Him for He saved you,
praise Him that salvation is complete! That Jesus paid it all--
He is worthy of the highest praise. To God be all the glory!

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Salvation cannot be earned-- praise the Lord! Salvation is
the free gift from God-- we rest in the Finished Work of Christ Jesus!

1 John 5:11-13
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life: and he
that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I
written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may
believe on the name of the Son of God.
