QUESTION: Will the mark of the Beast be a computer chip or tattoo?
ANSWER: We do not know. The KJV has translated the verse, "in the hand" or "in the forehead." Other translations have rendered the Greek,
"on the hand," etc. If it is a tattoo, most likely it could be a bar-code of sorts. If it is a computer chip, it will be the size of a grain of rice and implanted under the skin. We think it will be a computer chip.
Cats, in the USA, are already being "chipped" as well as many farm animals-- so as to identify the owner. These chips are also in clothing,
bank notes, etc. In light of the world's technological advancements, it is a likely possibility that "the mark of the beast" will be some sort of RFID chip. The prophet, Zechariah, gives us an indication of this in chapter 5:3, that the "flying roll" in the sky tracks the people of the earth.
The specifics are uncertain but the prophecy is sure and will come to pass. "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." (Revelation 13:17)
