| THE HIGHER POWER??? |
Turn on your TV and someone on some station is talking about a "higher
power." This self help philosophy that you can quit being a drunk or a drug
addict if you "believe in yourself and pray to your higher power...whom ever
you choose." Sadly, some Christians even endorse such self help programs now.
What these programs tell you is that it does not matter who you believe in, as
long as you believe in something...a generic god..."whether it be Budda, Jesus,
or whoever you choose." That is what they say. "Choose the god of your
choice." This politically correct statement is ANTI-BIBLE.
We as Christians do NOT believe in a higher power, WE BELIEVE AND
TRUST IN THE ALL-MIGHTY GOD WHO HAS THE HIGHEST POWER!!!
He goes beyond all power. He is the Almighty One!!
Rev 4:11: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:
for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Rev 5:12: Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to
receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory,
and blessing.
Rev 11:17: Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art,
and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power,
and hast reigned.
Ephe:1:21: Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion,
and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is
to come:
Ephe:1:19: And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who
believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
WE SERVE GOD ALMIGHTY! THE BLESSED GODHEAD. WE HAVE BEEN
BORN AGAIN BY BELIEVING AND RECEIVING THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST AND WE SERVE THE LIVING GOD, WHO HAS ALL POWER.
1Cor:1:18: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1Cor:2:5: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the
power of God.
WE SERVE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! HE IS OUR LORD!
1Peter 3:22: Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels
and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Buddah cannot help anyone! Mohammed cannot help anyone! Mary cannot
help anyone. Praying to them is like praying to the wind. Only Jesus rose from
the dead and is alive forevermore. There is only One Mediator between God
and Man-- Christ Jesus.
John:10:18: No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have
power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment
have I received of my Father.
We, as born again believers, serve the most awesome God. He has ALL
AUTHORITY, ALL DOMINION AND ALL WISDOM AND ALL POWER.
Many people today are serving a higher power-- the devil. He has power over
them because they have not received the Lord Jesus Christ who would wash
their sins away. They are slaves to the devil. The devil has power but he is no
match for Jesus Christ. Accept no other substitutes...Jesus is the Highest
Power! I have even seen on so called christian television people saying that they
pray to their "higher power." May we Christians never say the words "higher
power" out of our lips. We serve the Almightly God. He has ALL POWER-
NOT A HIGHER POWER BUT THE HIGHEST POWER! NO ONE IS
GREATER THAN HIM!
Matt 28:18: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given
unto me in heaven and in earth.
John:1:12: But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become
the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:
1Chr 29:11: Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory,
and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is
thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
1Chr 29:12: Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all;
and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great,
and to give strength unto all.
Job 36:22: Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
Psalm 66:3: Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the
greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
Psalm 66:7: He ruleth by His power for ever; His eyes behold the nations: let
not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
Psalm 147:5: Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding is
infinite.
Jer 10:12: He hath made the earth by his power, He hath established the world
by His wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by His discretion.
Jer 32:17: Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by
thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
Jer 51:15: He hath made the earth by His power, He hath established the
world by His wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by His understanding.
2Samuel 22:33: God is my strength and power: And He maketh my way
perfect.
Jude 1:25: To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion
and power, both now and ever. Amen.
