Salvation So Precious

Recently, I began to clean out my closet to give some clothes away to charity. I again began to wonder, "What ever happened to that skirt that Grandma had sewn for me?"

I went looking for it in every corner but could not find it. I went through the bags of clothes I was giving to charity just to see if it was somehow underneath another skirt...I wanted to be sure.

The skirt so dear to me would not be dear to someone else. They would wear it, and when it would be soiled, simply throw it away. It
is special to me because my Grandmother took the time to sew for me because she loved me.

After much pondering as to where it could be, I still had no answer
so I prayed (that's what I should have done in the first place) that the Lord would remind me of where I put it.

Today, I was looking through some things and I found my skirt in a box, folded among other clothes I had not seen since we moved in. I said, "Thank you Lord that you showed me where it was." (God knows where everything is.)

I relate this story to bring forth a very important point. That skirt that
is so dear to me could have gotten lost in the move (thankfully it did not). But our salvation...so very precious can NEVER be lost.  Our salvation was purchased with the precious blood of Christ Jesus, our Savior. Our redemption is not contingent upon our own good works. We cannot misplace our salvation and we cannot lose our salvation. When we receive Jesus, we receive His righteousness. We stand justified in God's sight because we have received the
free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.  What a wonderful thought! We all misplace things but God does not misplace us. Thankfully, we cannot misplace our salvation.

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works
of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Our salvation cannot be placed in a box and lost. It cannot be stolen from us. It cannot be destroyed. Our salvation is sure and Jesus holds us in His care...never to let us go. How precious He is to us.

Ephesians 1:13-14
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of
the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

The Lord saved us and He sealed us with the Holy Spirit and He
keeps us. Many Christians wonder if they can lose their salvation.
The biblical answer is so clear: If one is truly born again, one cannot lose their salvation for it is not contingent upon human merit.  If our good works cannot save us...how can our bad works unsave us?

Do you stand in your own righteousness or in the righteousness of Christ Jesus? Once you have been born again, you cannot be unborn again. Once you have been redeemed, you are redeemed forever. You are eternally secure because of Jesus! The Lord Jesus saved you and He keeps you. The salvation you have was purchased for you with the precious blood of Christ Jesus. God keeps His covenant. God does not go back on His Word.

Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Know that you are in His care today and if you have not yet put your 100% trust in Jesus Christ; if you have not made Him your Savior,
click here and read. Do not neglect your soul. Pray for truth and you shall find it. Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ.

Years ago, my grandmother had sewn a beautiful skirt for me. Whenever I looked at it hanging in my closet, I was reminded of her. But I lost track of it after we moved into our new home.
