"On Wings Of Faith Mount" On wings of faith mount up my soul and rise View thine inheritance beyond the skies Nor heart can think nor mortal tongue can tell What endless pleasures in those mansions dwell There my Redeemer lives all bright and glorious O'er sin and death and hell He reigns victorious. No gnawing grief no sad heart rending pain In that blest country can admission gain No sorrow there no soul tormenting fear For God's own hand shall wipe the falling tear There my Redeemer lives all bright and glorious O'er sin and death and hell He reigns victorious. Before the Throne a crystal river glides Immortal verdure decks its cheerful sides Here the fair tree of life majestic rears Its blooming head and soverign virtue bears There my Redeemer lives all bright and glorious O'er sin and death and hell He reigns victorious. One distant glimpse my eager passion fires Jesus to Thee my longing soul aspires When shall I at my heavenly home arrive? To that glorious meeting in the skies? For there my Saviours is all bright and glorious O'er sin and death and hell He reigns victorious. ~Walworth~ [modified] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Little Note from Cobblestone Road Ministries: Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. As Believers in Christ, we are the children of Abraham by faith! (See Galatians 3:7) Abraham looked for a city whose Builder and Maker was God. And we as Believers in Christ also look to our eternal home! We look to Him! We long for the day to see the Lord Jesus face to face. It's coming! Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: We live on this earth below-- it is a temporary dwelling but we are already seated with Christ Jesus in the spiritual. Our forever home is wherever He is. And when we leave this earth, we shall be promoted to glory! 1Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. There is an inheritance awaiting every Believer. The theme of much of Christian poetry is rising up above our current circumstances to view our Savior at work in our lives. Faith in Christ can take us beyond what the natural eye can see to reveal places where only our spiritual eyes, at this point, can see. Hebrews 11:1 says: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." We are a people who walk by faith. We have HOPE! The Lord Jesus is our Hope and our Inheritance. And so whatever trouble you may be facing this week, look to the Savior and on the wings of faith, mount up and rise! Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
