"The Hidden Life" To tell the Saviour all my wants, How pleasing is the task! Nor less to praise Him when He grants Beyond what I can ask. My laboring spirit vainly seeks To tell but half the joy, With how much tenderness He speaks, And helps me to reply. Nor were it wise, nor should I choose, Such secrets to declare; Like precious herbs their taste they lose, Exposed to open air. But this with boldness I proclaim, Nor care if thousands hear, Sweet is the ointment of His name, Not life is half so dear. And can you frown, my former friends, Who knew what once I was, And blame the song that thus commends The Man who bore the cross? Trust me, I draw the likeness true, And not as fancy paints; Such honor may He give to you, For such have all His saints. ~ By William Cowper ~ Modified by CRM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Little Note from Cobblestone Road Ministries: Colossian 3:1-3 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Praise the Lord that we are not what we once were! Our life is hid with Christ in God! We can come boldly to the Throne of Grace and find help in time of need. We can make our requests known. We can enter into God's presence, as His dear children-- for our lives are hidden in Christ Jesus and we stand before God justfied. Oh thanks be to God for the forgiveness provided through the blood of His precious Son. Thanks be to God-- that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Thanks be to God that we can know the Lord in a personal way and that He knows us. What beautiful communion between the Lord and His own. Philippians 4:6-8 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
