| The Lord Jesus vs. The New Age Movement |
The New Age Movement proclaims that there are "many ways to God" yet
Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me."
The New Age Movement promotes Jesus as being a "great teacher" put here
to "show us the way". No, Jesus is the way-- there is no other way but through
Him.
The New Age Movement places Jesus on the same level with Buddha,
Mohammed, Confucius but the Bible says that God has given Jesus a name
that is above every name.
Phil 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a
name which is above every name:
The New Age Movement seeks power from crystals but Jesus said in
Matthew 28:18, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
One CANNOT believe in Jesus and the teachings of the New Age Movement.
Pick one or the other. Either Jesus is who He said He is... or He is not. Either
Jesus was telling the truth when He said, "I am the way" or He was not.
One cannot take bits and pieces of His life and teaching and throw the rest of
His words away. Every word that He said is true so one must conclude that
when He spoke of a literal hell, He meant it. In fact, Jesus spoke more of hell
than anyone else in the entire bible. Jesus taught the doctrine of hell.
The Lord Jesus said in Luke 12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not
afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they
can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after
he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
When the Lord Jesus said, "I am the way", He meant what He said. Jesus is
not some guru. Jesus claimed to be and IS the SON OF GOD-- THE ONLY
BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER. The bible calls one who denies the Deity of
Christ, "the spirit of antichrist".
The New Age Movement says that Jesus is God "among many gods". The bible
says that there is but ONE GOD and One Mediator between God and men-- the
man Christ Jesus.
1Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus;
The New Age Movement says that each and every one of us are gods. The
oldest deception satan has since the beginning is to convince himself and others
that they are gods. The devil told Eve in the Garden of Eden, "ye shall be as
gods". The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 4:10, "Thou shalt worship the Lord
thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."
CONCLUSION
One cannot sit on the fence and believe in Jesus along with many other gods.
Either one believes in Jesus or he does not. One cannot pick which part of
Jesus' teachings to follow and discard the rest.
No other person in all of human history has made the statements Jesus made.
He said to the Jewish leaders of His day: "Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Before Abraham was, I am." Those are powerful words that cannot be
ignored. The prophecies pointing to Jesus in the Old Testament and fulfilled by
Him in the New Testament cannot be ignored. The peace that He offers those
who put their faith and trust in Him cannot be ignored.
Either one believes in Jesus or He does not. If one believes in Jesus, then how
can he or she possibly put their faith in any other god?
John 11:25-26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:
he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And
whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
The Lord Jesus said in John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He
that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.
