"There Is Rest For The Weary Soul" There is rest for the weary soul --- There is rest in the Saviour's love; There is rest in the grace that has made us whole, And that seeketh out those who rove. There is rest in the tender love That has trodden our path below, That has found us a place in the realms above, But can now all our sorrows know. There is rest in the calming grace That flows out from those realms above; Oh what rest in the thought --- we shall see His face, Who has given us to know His love! There is rest in the midst of grief --- For His grief was the proof of love; Oh 'tis sweet in that love now to find relief, When the sorrows of earth we prove. There is rest in the Saviour's heart, Who would never turn grief away: But has found, in what sin once had made our part, The domain of His love's display. There is rest in the blessed yoke, And in proving no will but His, While we learn from His path, and the words He spoke, What the patience of Jesus is! So where Jesus has gone before, Is the path which we have to tread; And it leads to the rest where all sorrow's o'er --- To the place where His steps have led. By: John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Little Note from Cobblestone Road Ministries: Are you resting in the Lord Jesus? The pilgrim path is difficult... Have you entrusted to Him your every problem? Are you resting from your worries, doubts, toil and grief? He is rest for your weary soul! Oh, how we need Him every hour and yet many times we think not to "trouble the Master". But we must remember that nothing is difficult with God. He doesn't get tired. He doesn't get weary of helping us. At times, we tend to think of Him as we do of ourselves, "Oh I won't bother God with this request." Yet God is able to meet our need. He never grows weary. Whether it is a small problem or a great one, nothing is difficult for Him. We serve a GREAT God, who proclaims to us in Jeremiah 33:3: Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. The Lord Jesus offers rest to each and every one of us. There is rest in His love, His grace, His compassion, etc. His love is without limit. We must take our rest and refuge in Him alone and follow the path where He leads us, knowing that He will see us safely Home.. Matthew 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
